Layout Marathon: Guidelines

This year's theme is food! Those interested to sign up will be asked to create a layout featuring any cuisine or type of food, or any people, activities, and cultural markers related to food (e.g., celebrities eating; people cooking or dining out; culinary icons; and so on). As long as the concept behind your design is connected to food in some way, you are most welcome to join the marathon!

  1. This marathon is mainly for the members of the TFL and the TAFL communities, but participants outside of that group are more than welcome. :)
  2. Participants can enlist any kind of personal (nonprofit) site they own—a single fanlisting, a fansite, a shrine or dedication page, their collective, a contact page, their guestbook, an about page, a personal blog, etc.
  3. Participants must design their own original layout for the site they enlisted, based on this year's theme (explained above).
  4. This marathon opens on Nov. 21, 2024 and closes on Jan. 20, 2025. This is a modification of the traditional layout marathon rules, where there were separate dates for signing up and finishing/revealing the layouts. Instead, there is just one designated period for the signup, creation, and revelation of layouts—which means you can join in the marathon anytime during this period.
  5. To join the marathon, please go to the signup page. There is no limit to the number of sites you can sign up for, for as long as you can finish them within the marathon period. You will then receive a confirmation email from me acknowledging your submission.
  6. Once you are finished with your layout/s, please notify me by replying to the confirmation email I sent you when you signed up.
  7. Please make sure you let your layout stay up until the marathon closes (again, on Jan. 20, 2025). You may choose to let it stay up for longer than that, but you may only change layouts for the site you enlisted after this date.
  8. Don't forget to provide a prominent link back to http://flavours.minty.nu on the index page of your site. :)

  9. For participating in this marathon, you will get a 200x40 badge that you can display on your sites for participating! Please see guideline #6 above if you finish earlier than the deadline.♥
